In 1942 Clark Gable joined the U.S. Army Air Force and flew in combat as a B-17 gunner. He also made the color film "Combat America".
Gable's cohort James Stewart became a highly-decorated combat veteran who received the DFC. He also starred in the recruiting film "Winning Your Wings".
Unable to serve in combat, Ronald Reagan made a special effort to narrate training films such as "Identification of The Japanese Zero".
Also included is "Tank" featuring Orson Welles' smooth voice. In "Bomber", famed poet Carl Sandburg describes the process of constructing a machine of war.
